K.A.R.E.S RESCUE AND SANCTUARY INC. We are a sanctuary for unwanted, abused, and neglected animals. Thousands of animals are abused and neglected everyday, someone must stand up for them, as there are already so many awful people set out to hurt them. Always remember to Adopt instead of shop, and please spay and neuter your pets!
Not everyone is in a position to help other animals, but everyone is in the position not to harm them!
K.A.R.E.S rescue and sanctuary Inc. is a Florida nonprofit and this is how we became KARES. I have spent my whole life rescuing animals, and began saving any animal that I saw that needed my help sense I was a very small child. Once I became an adult, my partner and I got an 80 acre home, we called our farm KARES and began taking in animals that were in need. We had at one point over 100 animals. We have always done this out of our own money, just out the kindness of our hearts as we are huge animal lovers. A few years ago we decided to move the rescue down to Florida, so we rehomed as many as we could, and moved the rescue to Central Florida. In Central Florida we realized the serious need for horse rescues, so we decided we should expand our rescue, and provide a safe, Loving Sanctuary for the unwanted horses that are being mistreated here in Florida. There is a large amount of Neglected and abused horses in Florida, and we soon learned that we would need help with our mission. In 2013 we became a non-profit Corporation called K.A.R.E.S RESCUE AND SANCTUARY INC. We are in the process of filing for 501(c)(3) so we can expand our horizons and help many more animals in need. None of the Board members or officers gets paid; we are all volunteers just doing the right thing, as we are the voice of the voiceless!
Our mission is to rescue, and to provide a safe, and loving sanctuary for the unwanted, abused and neglected animals. We strive on education, and try to teach people how to be responsible pet owners. We teach them about the importance of nutrition, routine veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, dental exams, regular worming schedules, hoof care, coat and skin care, and even training techniques.
